Ethereum will replace Bitcoin as the leading crypto network, claims Polygon co-founder

In an exclusive interview with Cointelegraph, Sandeep Nailwal, co-founder of Polygon, stated that “ETH will soon outpace Bitcoin” and be the global standard.

Nailwal believes that Ethereum is the “ultimate settlement layer” in the DeFi space. Polygon’s scalable solution will be a key factor in Ethereum’s long-term success. Nailwal feels that it is too early to speak of an “Ethereum killer” despite increasing competition from layer-1 protocols like Solana.

He stated that the Ethereum chain is “just beyond the reach” of other chains because of its security, fundamentals, and level of decentralization.

The co-founder of Polygon, Nailwal, believes that Etheruem will eventually be superior to Bitcoin due to its greater number of uses. Nailwal believes that Bitcoin’s utility will not expand beyond its monetary system function. If it does, it might be unable to survive long-term as a layer-1 protocol.

“It might take 10 years, but I don’t see a world with multiple layer-1 protocols.”
