Twitter enables users to give and receive Ethereum tips natively

Twitter made Bitcoin payments available in September 2021 via its tipping system. Twitter added a slew new payment options to its tipping jar on Wednesday. This included Ethereum (ETH).

Do you have Tips set up on your profile? This will make it easy for people to support you. Yes: We’ve added Paga and Barter by Flutterwave to our profile. You can also add your Ethereum address. You don’t have to wait. Here’s how: https://t.co/Id5TwTpnCF

To receive ETH tips, users must enable the tipping features and add an Ethereum address in the dedicated section of the profile. An attempt to add an ENS domain address instead of a full alpha numeric address was unsuccessful. This resulted in an error box that said punctuation was invalid.

Tips can be sent to Bitcoin Lightning Network. This sends payment via the Strike app. However, the company did not provide any additional information about tipping in ETH. Tips are currently only available to users with Android and iOS phones. Twitter claims that users retain 100% of tips they receive.

Twitter recently launched a feature that allowed Twitter Blue users to upload nonfungible tokens (or NFTs) as profile pictures. However, this capability was limited to iOS.
